Steven Spielbergs 1985 film adaptation garnered 11 Oscar nominations.
Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg produced this 2024 film. Building on the legacy of these important works while incorporating elements of the stage musical.

Much more than a remake, this musical stands on its own as a vibrant and uplifting retelling of the classic film with superb singing and dance adding depth to the characters. Taraji b Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, and Fantasia give performances of a lifetime.
